Bible training equips believer

Bible training equips a believer for her Gospel Mission in her South African village Bible training was something for which Kagiso longed. “Though I loved having a Bible and was attending church,” Kagiso shared, “I didn’t understand what I was reading or hearing. I told the Pastor that I wanted to study the Bible, but I didn’t understand it.

But all of that changed when Bible League International came to Kagiso’s town of Refengkgotso, near Cape Town at the southernmost point of South Africa. “These Christians brought Bible study materials and helped us to study and to understand what the Scriptures mean.”

“When I received those Bible study materials and began to read them, I fell in love with God’s Word as it was presented,” she says. “I studied on my own every day, and also with other Christians. Now when I listen to my Pastor, I understand what he is talking about. Because of Bible League International, today I know Christ as the Lord and Savior of my life. God has done a special work in my life through these materials.”

The gift goes on

Kagiso’s story doesn’t end there. Through the same study materials, her parents heard and understood God’s Word for the first time. They decided to follow Jesus Christ, too.

“My goal is to make more people aware of why Jesus died for them and how much He loves them,” Kagiso says. “I thank the Lord for what He is doing in my life, even though I am a young person.”

Great Commission ministry

Kagiso’s determination to draw closer to God is evident. There is deep joy when African villages experience spiritual transformation through Bible training. We believe – and Kagiso believes – “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” (Proverbs 30:5) Please pray with us for Kagiso and her village as they study the Bible and grow in their faith through this Great Commission ministry.
