God’s Word Convinces Skeptic

God’s Word meant nothing to Amir, a skeptic who turned his back on believing in any god at all. In Maharashtra state in India, where Amir lives, Christians are less than 2% of the population. It is estimated that among this small percentage of believers many have no more than a nominal faith.

When committed Christians came to his village to share the Gospel, Amir was combative and confrontational. “He was telling me about God, and I wanted to make him defend his statements with proof,” he says.

The Christian gave Amir a Bible study booklet so they could find “proof” of God together. “I took the book and started reading and writing answers in it,” adds Amir. The Bible study materials Amir read challenged his skeptic heart.

God's Word penetrated his soul

“As I was doing this, I realized there were many stories about a man named Jesus Christ,” says Amir. “I told myself that if this is the one, true God, then I must experience this God.” As Amir continued reading, something happened. God’s Word penetrated his soul, and every word pierced his heart. God had Amir’s attention.

With urgency, Amir asked the Christian to tell him more about the Jesus they read about in the Bible.

“The Christian explained to me that if I just trust Jesus Christ with my life, He could change me!” continues Amir. “I started praying to Jesus Christ and slowly my life and my attitude did change. I am now convinced that there truly is only one God, and I am excited to attend Bible studies each week to draw closer to Him and hear God’s Word.” Continue to pray for Amir and those in India discovering God’s Word for the first time.
