Malaysia ministry raising up a new generation of leaders
Rita had no hope, and lived like many kids in Malaysia. Poor. Destitute. Without hope. "My family was very poor," shares Rita. "At the end of the semester we ran out of funds and I couldn't go back to school. I learned to talk with God through my Bible lessons, so I prayed a lot. A teacher said to me ‘If you cannot pay you cannot go to school.' After that I cried a lot."
"But I kept praying that God would find a way to help us find the money for school. God answered my prayer to go to school through that same teacher; she provided the money herself! This was the first thing that made me truly believe in God. I really feel how God has helped me and my family. If a person is really sincere, God will never leave them." And this is exactly what we teach through our Malaysia ministry to kids.
Baptized on my own
"When God blessed me, I felt He wanted me to do something," adds Rita. "So I was baptized on Aug. 31, which is Malaysia's Independence Day." Praise God that Rita's baptism commemorates not only the country's independence but Rita's spiritual independence. She prays for more people to come to the church, for more people to know God. She wants to be a teacher and keep ministry in Malaysia going to kids less fortunate like her.
"I just pray continually so God will bless more people. I believe God hears all prayers. I love to sing in church and learn about my Jesus who gives me and my family the promise of heaven."

Transforming hatred to love
Transformation is happening across Malaysia! Children once filled with hatred are learning to love. Where cruelty reigned in families, there is kindness. Where evil prevailed in hearts, there is goodness. Where Jesus Christ was unknown, He now dwells in young hearts. The reason: God's life-transforming Word paired with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Children are so encouraged when they find that God speaks their language, too!
