For the first time in 100 years

People meet in secret. Fear is evident. Since Communists took over the country of Vietnam in 1975, it is a huge challenge to strategically plant Bibles throughout the country. But God has recently opened doors in Vietnam that no man could ever open...

In many parts of Vietnam it is not common to see a Bible for sale. In fact, the Vietnamese Government tightly controls the printing and distribution of Bibles. With persecution continuing even today, planting Bibles effectively in Vietnam continues to be difficult, especially to Christians living far from urban centers.

There is an Urgent Need in Vietnam, and you can help! The Vietnamese Government is allowing Vietnamese Bibles to be published.

And there is a desperate need!

Vietnam is one of Communism's last strongholds. All policies and activities are tightly controlled, including religious practices. Most Christians choose to worship in underground house churches due to mandatory church registration. Getting Bibles to these believers is difficult.

The Christian Post, recently reported the bulldozing of a Bible school. 500 police along with soldiers and fire officers showed up and began demolishing the property. Sadly, the pastor was beaten and several members of his congregation were detained and take to an undisclosed location. This is not uncommon.

Unprecedented opportunity

The World Bible Translation Center (WBTC) has been working on the production of a Vietnamese edition of its Easy-to-ReadTM Bible. For the first time in the past 100 years, Vietnamese authorities have approved the publication and distribution of up to 100,000 Bibles next year.

Why these Bibles? Why now?

The year 2011 marks a historic occasion in Vietnam's history. It's the 100 year anniversary of the first Protestant Church established in 1911. Various church groups gained Government approval to proclaim a year of celebration to commemorate the Centennial.

Significantly, various denominations called for the publication of a new Vietnamese Edition of the Easy-to-Read Bible.

If this number of Bibles is funded, it will be the largest ever timed distribution and planting of Bibles in the nation's history!

One Vietnamese church leader says, "This new Bible will reach deeply into the Church, dynamically changing and enhancing its understanding of God's Word. It is a gift to our people."

Imagine

Another explained, "Imagine 100,000 Easy-to-Read Bibles going into the hands of leaders, new believers, and even Christians who have never before owned their own Bible. It will bring unity as never before, as now all are able to read, understand, study...It will truly transform lives!"

In partnership with WBTC, we are excited for this unprecedented opportunity in Vietnam to plant God's Word to change the world.

Yes! I want to donate to this urgent need and send Bibles NOW.
