A spiritual hotspot

Men in the hispanic community church read their Bible training materials in areas where drug lords and the drug cartel need Jesus Christ.

Honduras is known as an "ecological hotspot." Its lush jungles teem with life. But the rich variety of its exotic orchids, bats, lizards, massive trees and tropical fruit clash with the poverty most Hondurans endure.

A Killer Storm

In 1998 Hurricane Mitch did horrendous damage to the nation's already tenuous infrastructure. Over 10,000 people were killed... millions more lost their homes... and billions of dollars in damage crippled the economy. Even today, the unemployment rate is roughly 40% -- and violence is part of daily life

A New Current

On the positive side - the Kingdom is on the move. Though nominal Roman Catholicism has long been the primary religious stream in the nation, a new wave of Protestantism is rushing in, even as Catholic church attendance falls. New churches are being built - and amidst failed economic policies and rampant drug running - Hondurans are finding their citizenship beyond man-made national boundaries.

An Exciting Work

Bible League is now reaching into Honduras to provide much-needed training and Bibles to the poor. The work isn't easy and the risks are relatively high - yet exciting outreach is happening in what is becoming a "spiritual hotspot." Pray for the safety of our workers, the spread of true belief - and that the richness of God's Kingdom will be enshrined in the hearts of many new Honduran believers.
