Impoverished but hopeful
Ukraine
may be rich in natural resources, but its people suffer the
daily strain of poverty, and their hearts are sapped dry.
In this country that has been left spiritually desolate
by decades of atheism and futility, the shadow of Communism
has finally lifted, and the Ukrainian people are wearily
picking themselves up and looking to the future. Amidst the
continuing discouragement of high unemployment and poverty,
Ukrainians are on the lookout for hope to break in.
The presidential election in Ukraine and resulting national
openness has kept open a door for Bible League to work. People
are excited about the potential of freedom in their land.
This is a critical time to spread the good news of freedom
in Christ.
Body of Christ growing
As more churches are planted, Ukrainians are finding satisfaction
and strength in the Word of God, and new bodies of believers
are springing up throughout the country. Existing churches
have also been strengthened through their partnership with
Bible League, as their members become excited about the
Great Commission and begin to share Christ with their fellow
Ukrainians.
Since Bible League began working in Ukraine, the ministry
has grown steadily and is now flourishing. Thousands of spiritually-impoverished
people have completed Bible studies, and Bible League-trained
church planters are seeking to build God's kingdom in the
hearts of their fellow Ukrainians. The potential for the
body of Christ in Ukraine to grow in depth and numbers is
great.
Hope in God
Please pray that Bible League's ministry will equip the local
Ukrainian churches to put their desire into action and
build the kingdom of God in their country. Pray for boldness
for Bible League-trained church planters, and open hearts
to receive the Word of life they bring to Ukraine. |
