Muslim Children discover God

The gift of a Bible to Muslim children in Albania leads them to the joy of Christ in their lives.

Drini, one of many poor Muslim children in Tirana, Albania, had his life changed by the gift of the Bible and an invitation to study Christ in a local church. Drini stopped by the church one day when he learned small presents were being given to children. Instead of just a small gift, Drini was given the gift of the knowledge of Christ and it has transformed his life.

“I went to the church only for the gift, but the Bible lessons I learned changed my thinking,” says the 16-year-old. “I was a little boy, but I opened my heart to God and He accepted me through His love. I am now the only person in my family who knows Jesus Christ. I tell them and everyone I meet to open their heart to God. He loves us!”

Did you know that nearly 25% of Albania’s 3.6 million people are younger than 15?

Did you know that 40% are younger than 24?

Yound hearts are open Young people are especially open to the Gospel. Through your partnership, you’re helping to bring Albania’s future leaders to Christ. Their hearts are alive when they let God's love fill them!

As kids learn to build their lives on a firm Christian foundation, they go on to impact their peers as well as their entire families. Although life in Albania is difficult for Drini, we can pray that he will continue to be Christ extended to his family.

Still, so many in Albania honestly don't believe in God.

We don't believe in God...really?

Sowing the seeds of God’s Word in Albania is a slow and painstaking process. At a dark point in its history, Albania was the only country in the world to officially proclaim, “We don’t believe in God.”

Today, some 50 years later, most Albanians remain atheists, even though 70% of the population claims Islam as their religion, and 25% claim to be Orthodox or Catholic. Those three remain the country’s only legally recognized faiths.

Evangelical Christians comprise less than one percent of the population of Albania, but their numbers continue to grow. When Communism fell in 1989, there were only six known Christians in Albania; now there are about 30,000. Reaching out to Muslim children through love and the gift of the Word of God in the Holy BIble is key to this growing trend of Christianity in Albania.
