Macedonia and its people have been persecuted by rulers from Alexander the Great to the Communists. In post-Communist Macedonia, Blagoja found happiness early in life. He had a beautiful wife, a good job, a home and a healthy child.”
Then everything fell apart. Blagoja lost his job – and the economic fallout shattered his domestic bliss. “We moved in with my wife’s parents but it didn’t work out. I did nothing but smoke cigarettes all day long. I was ready to leave the family. I lost myself. I didn’t even care for my wife or child anymore.”
From Darkness to Light
Then his sister and brother-in-law gave him a life-changing invitation.“They invited us to church. I went with my wife, but was not interested. Then we went again… and again. And one day during the worship service, something happened to me. I felt something inside me - a warmth through all my body. I looked at my wife’s face and it was not the same. Her expression was bright – it looked white. Before that, I had seen only darkness in her features. Something was happening to her. At the end of the service, we went to the front and the pastor prayed for us.” Blagoja had met the Savior.
From Infancy to Maturity
From that moment forward, Blagoja was a changed man. God released him from his smoking addiction… then gave back everything the devil had stolen. His house, his job, his family… and his happiness.
Now Blagoja is in his late thirties and is dedicated to bringing others into the Christian fellowship that brought joy to his heart and meaning to his life. Using Bible League International materials, he leads a bible study group at his church. He is driven to share the Word of God with those who are hopeless and teach them to see the light… and find the happiness that only God can bring. When you reach out, you touch people like Blagoja – sharing in and promoting Christian fellowship around the globe.
