Bible Study is Personal

Bible Study brings Armenian woman redemption and happiness.

An invitation to a Bible Study meeting from a Bible League International worker was the path to a new spiritual life for me. One day, a man knocked on my door and asked me if I was interested in knowing about God. I was immediately interested. In my soul, I hoped that knowing about God would give me some of the answers to life that I had been seeking. The invitation to this Bible Study was just the beginning of my personal journey with the Lord.

I felt good about accepting his invitation to attend Bible study meetings in the village. At first I considered the Bible message to be of a general nature. One time, as I was thinking about this, it came to me that in fact it is a personal message to me.

That truth came to me with force. I kept hearing the Bible teacher say when the truth is revealed by the Word of God, there should be a response: repent and believe in the Lord. This agitated me very much. The words of the Bible pounded me: ‘There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.’ (Romans 3:22-23).

The effect was immediate

My pride was cracked open and I realized I was a sinner. In that moment I came to understand that the Holy Spirit had convicted me deeply of my sin.

It was God’s Word that had brought me into truth. It was God’s Word that gave to me the urge to repent, and receive His forgiveness through placing my faith in His Son Jesus.

Justified freely

The words of the Bible—‘Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ’ (Romans 5:1)—is just on of the comforting verses I have taken to heart through Bible Study. Bible Study with Bible League International has shown me that the Word of God is true and makes it real in my own life every single day.
