CHICAGO—Bible League announces the promotion
of John Wagenveld to Vice President of Latin America
ministries. Wagenveld has faithfully served the Bible
League for almost seven years as part of the ministry
leadership team for this part of the world. “John
has consistently provided noteworthy and dynamic leadership,” said
Mike Southworth, Bible League’s executive vice
president of ministry. “I have great confidence
in him and value his vibrant passion for this ministry.”
Wagenveld will provide guidance to the leadership
team, overseeing Bible League’s ministry throughout
10 Latin American countries.
Latin America staff is sensing a new spiritual vibrancy
as they unite with Wagenveld in his vision to reach
the continent for Christ. “Our team has come
together with renewed energy to strategically place
Scriptures all over Latin America,” says Wagenveld. “It
is a privilege for me to serve this incredible team!”
God has already accomplished great things in Latin
America through this ministry. In 2007, more than 700
churches were established, and Bible League-trained
believers placed more than 800,000 Bibles and New Testaments
into the hands of waiting Christians in Chile, Colombia,
Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Mexico, Nicaragua,
Peru, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela. Thousands of these
Bibles went to children after they completed Bible
studies, and many of these Bibles were the very first
to enter into these homes.
Countries like Haiti and Colombia—nations with
long histories of violence—are seeing a visible
difference in neighborhoods and villages as people
begin reading God’s Word for themselves. When
God’s Word infiltrates lives and families, the
change is evident. |
