A man from his local church completed Bible study in his village church in an area where drug lords have ruled for many years.

Carlos Polanco has experienced total spiritual transformation.

"Before I became a Christian, I never felt any peace at home," says Carlos. "But today, I always speak to my family about God's Word, and tell them that I wouldn't be like I am now if it wasn't for the Word."

After Carlos accepted Christ, he connected with a Bible study group that uses our ministry's Bible placement strategy to engage people in the study of God's Word.

"The best decision I ever made was to follow the Lord"

"I really began to grow in faith once I began studying the Bible." Reaching for a copy of Hacia la Plentitud Cristiana, he notes, "This book has been very helpful in nurturing my faith."

As he began delving into the Bible, Joshua 1:9 and Jeremiah 33:3 took on a great deal of meaning for him. "When I read these two particular Bible verses, I spent a long time analyzing them and I felt a certain sensation within," he explains. "Through them, I realized that what God says in His Word is true."

Carlos has a heart for evangelism and is using the gifts God has given him-the gifts of preaching and teaching-to lead a 30-member Bible study group with a friend.

"The best decision I ever made was to follow the Lord," Carlos concludes. "The Bible tells me that God won't leave me or forsake me. He'll be with me wherever I am."

Excited about how the Lord has transformed his life, Carlos knows the role he can play in fulfilling the Great Commission. He realizes that it was not just a mandate for the disciples, but is a charge to all Christians.

"I feel a need to win souls for the Lord," says Carlos. "I feel a need to teach people, to show them Christ's love, and have them realize He is the only alternative for life."
