Being a Light

Sharing Jesus during COVID-19

April 21, 2020

“Our local churches are taking precautions in different measures to make sure that we don't become carriers of COVID-19,” says Reverand Narong, a Bible League partner in Thailand. “However, we were caught in the middle of visiting local churches and organizing Project Philip Bible study training when the government announced a lockdown. We tried to finish all our schedules as we need to follow the government's directive of staying at home. We’ve been working from home for more than two weeks now and waiting for further announcements from the government. May God protect us and use us during this crisis.”

Despite the restrictions, they’re still working to minister. In fact, they are taking advantage of the situation. “This is the best time to proclaim Jesus Christ as hope to Thai people in this hopeless situation. Our Philips (Project Philip Bible study leaders) continue to spread the Gospel, using different materials at hand,” he says. “For example, Pastor Khampan shared the Gospel with his neighbor who came to him and asked for prayer. That neighbor eventually accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. Then, a well digger who excavated a deep well in their house also got the chance to listen to God’s Word as he talked to Pastor Khampan (pictured) and he also accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Finally, an electrician who fixed some electric troubles at the church also listened to the Gospel shared with him by Pastor Khampan, he, too, accepted Jesus in his heart. In times like this, people are thirsty for salvation, and we should be a light in the world. The time to move is now!”
