Arunwang, 56, was a Buddhist from Thailand. She always practiced traditional Buddhist rituals like offering food and meditating in silence.

Despite being faithful to Buddhist rituals, Arunwang’s heart still felt empty. “I couldn't find peace," Arunwang said.

Five months after her husband passed away, she visited a Christian cousin in a nearby province. Arunwang remembers the warmth and love of the people in her cousin’s church.

That day, she surrendered her life to Jesus. “I felt a peace that I had never experienced before.” Now, Arunwang is teaching God's Word in her community, to more than 70 attendees of her new church.

Meet Joao Cumaio, a pastor in Mozambique (pictured left)

“I did not know that God wanted to give me another chance.”

“I had been working as a teacher in my home area, when a problem arose in my workplace. I could not solve it, which led to my detention. While I served a sentence in prison, my wife’s church members visited me. Her pastor came with Bible League’s prison Bible study. It helped me to be born again, and I became a facilitator of the program within the prison.

After 5 years, it was proven that the situation that detained me was not my fault, and I was released. It made me realize that God used my sentence to bring me back to Him. I continue to be a Bible study facilitator for other inmates in the prison, sharing the power of God’s Word.”

Bosco suffered a terrible tragedy as a child when

Bosco suffered a terrible tragedy as a child when his parents were murdered in a conflict within the country of Burundi, Africa. Throughout his teenage years, he lived with unforgiveness and rage, even wanting to take revenge on his family's killers, but God transformed Bosco's life and brought him peace after he heard the Gospel preached in a church he visited.

Today, Bosco leads Igniting Communities for Jesus (ICJ), a partner of Bible League International, that creates brighter tomorrows for the people of Burundi, often touted as the world's poorest country, and disciples them as new believers. ICJ has found favor among Burundi's government schools and the Muslim community. As a result, people are hungry for the Gospel and asking for more Bibles and study materials to share Christ with others.
