“I am still young, but I see how my parents struggle to put food on the table,” he says. “They run a flea market in town, but sometimes they don’t have enough money to pay school fees for me and my brothers and sister.”
Poverty forced Ojit to indulge in crime to make fast money. Ojit says sadly, "My friends also pressured me into drinking as a quick fix for depression and anxiety. I failed to love or care for my wife and sons. I was not at home when my family needed me the most."
Ojit was busy all the time with work on the farm. The pressure of trying to make ends meet and not spending time with his family began wearing on him.
However, God intervened in the life of this workaholic whose marriage was on the rocks. It was an invitation to a Project Philip Bible study that came as a lifesaver for him. He notes, "I felt blessed and loved going to this group." Through studying God's Word, he found the hope and peace of Jesus Christ.
Now, his life is different. Ojit beams, "I know Jesus gave me eternal life. He delivered me from my depression and filled me with His love and joy. God blessed our family life. I'm able to spend more time with them."
God changed the life of this young man, his wife, and his sons. They not only regularly go to church, but Ojit is also very passionate about sharing God's Word. He explains, "From the Project Philip Bible study group, I learned how to talk to others about Jesus and how to lead others to Christ. All the training has helped me to be bold."
Ojit says gratefully, "I really want to thank my church and you for being a blessing in my life. You have blessed my marriage and my family."
