Janvier, 47, grew up in a Christian family in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti. He accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age. He explains, "I grew up praising the one true God unlike many people in this country who unfortunately grew up around Voodoo or ancestral worship." Though many in Haiti are unable to afford school fees, Janvier dreamed of going to college. It wasn't easy for the family to gather enough money for his education, but they worked hard to fulfill Janvier's college dreams. He finished high school and eventually seminary.
He is married with two children and serves as a pastor in his community. Recently, he was invited to attend a Project Philip training. And not long after becoming a Philip (a Project Philip Bible study leader), he was encouraged by a local church planter to learn how to plant a church. He notes, "I loved Project Philip so much that I decided to do Church Planter Training as well."
"The materials are so effective, and every teaching helped me evangelize better than ever."
Janvier loved the new training and knew it would help him grow his church. "The materials are so effective, and every teaching helped me evangelize better than ever." Church Planter Training helped him to reach people in a straight-forward way.
Today, he leads the church he started as a result of his training. "We have around 200 members already," he says with a smile "Our congregation continues to use Project Philip Bible studies to grow and create groups." Praise the Lord for how He is transforming lives through Janvier's work in Haiti.
