Accountant & Regional Assistant, EMEA Regional Unit

The role of Accountant & Regional Support will assist the Controller & Regional Manager in providing excellent ministry reporting, financial management and reporting, human resource development and support, procurement and logistical services, and compliance-related services that leads towards the growth of impactful and healthy ministry partnerships within the EMEA region. In particular, the role will be responsible for accounting duties including processing of financial information, preparation of timely, meaningful, and accurate reports and compliance with all statutory and taxation requirements to ensure the integrity of financial information and the effective management and control of the assets of the EMEA Regional Unit.

The role will report directly to the Controller & Regional Manager.  During periods of absence of the Controller & Regional Manager, due either to illness or leave, the Accountant & Regional Assistant will take on the duties of the Controller & Regional Manager in an acting capacity.

1. Financial:

a. Verify, allocate and post details of business transactions to BLI’s Accounting System.

b. Maintain Chart of Accounts in the accounting system.

c. Accounts Payable, review and pay suppliers, contractor invoices in a timely manner.

d. Prepare monthly financial statements.

e. Conduct monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts.

f. Reconcile monthly grant payments against Purchase Orders.

g. Perform monthly reconciliation of General Ledger.

h. Manage the purchase of regional assets and maintain fixed assets register.

i. Process operational and Scripture grants to ministry partners.

j. Prepare month-end inventory reports from ministry partners from the Program to Impact Management System (P2I) which would provide a review of the utilization of granted scriptures in their ministry.

k. Monitor and review the data entered into the P2I System regarding ministry people impact of partners.

l. Assist the Controller & Regional Manager with the preparation of monthly inventory and ministry KPI report.

m. Assist the Controller & Regional Manager in monitoring regional budget and variance analysis.

n. Assist the Controller & Regional Manager in cash flow management and forecast.

o. Assist the Controller & Regional Manager in preparation of the annual budget.

p. Assist the Controller & Regional Manager in annual audit.

q. Undertake office administration functions as directed.

2. Human Resources

a. Assist the Controller & Regional Manager in all aspects.

b. Support the Controller & Regional Manager in providing regular internal communication and networking opportunities among the staff of the EMEA Regional Unit so as to maintain a strong unified culture.

3. Product Procurement & Logistics

a. Assist the Controller & Regional Manager in the management and oversight of the procurement of regional resources to ensure the maximization of efficiency and effectiveness in the allocation of such resources.

b. Assist in the maintenance of perpetual inventory records, reconciled to the general ledger, and identify any variance between inventory records and ministry accomplishments through appropriate analysis.

4. Compliance

a. Assist the Controller & Regional Manager to ensure effective due diligence of granted resources through the EMEA region.

b. In collaboration with Global Compliance, assist the Controller & Regional Manager in ensuring compliance of regional offices and ministry partners with all applicable laws, policies and regulations.

5. Ministry Support

a. In collaboration with the Controller & Regional Manager, seek improved procedural and cost efficiencies through appropriate analysis of the financial operations of both the EMEA Regional Unit and regional ministry partners.

b. Assist the Controller & Regional Manager to ensure accurate and timely ministry reporting in line with the requirements of Global Advancement, Finance and Scripture Engagement.

c. Assist in ministry and stewardship reviews as requested by the Controller & Regional Manager.

5. Other

a. As requested by the Controller & Regional Manager, assist with:

I. The preparation of special reports as deemed necessary by other departments of Bible League International.

II. Participate in organizational meetings as required.

III. Perform other duties as requested by the Controller & Regional Manager.

Organizational Relationships

Responsible to:  Controller & Regional Manager, EMEA
Collaborates with: EMEA Ministry Partners, members of the EMEA Regional Team, and other departments of Bible League International, as required.


  1. Must be a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must also agree with our statement of faith and conduct his/herself in a Christ-like manner.
  2. Should have at least 3 years accounting experience in a business and or non-profit setting.
  3. Possess a university degree in Finance or Accounting required. Accounting certification strongly desired with an understanding of International Accounting Standards.
  4. Must have experience working with corporate accounting software, as well as experience with Microsoft Office Products, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  5. Must be able to travel 6-8 times a year or as required.

Performance Evaluations

You will meet with your manager in alignment with our fiscal year to discuss accomplishments and priorities four times per fiscal year.
