This is not just a job opportunity, this is an opportunity to transform lives!

Summary

Bible League International’s Bible Translation department selects, trains, and provides support for first-language translation teams to produce Easy-to-Read™ translations of the Bible. Our audiences are selected according to needs determined in conjunction with ministry partners.

The Associate Translation Consultant assists in monitoring project progress and project quality control with a view toward publication and use in Scripture Engagement focusing on the spiritual formation of individuals and their communities. The Associate Translation Consultant checks the quality of a translation by its faithfulness to the original languages (Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic) and its apparent clarity and readability for the receptor audiences in keeping with the best contemporary biblical, missiological, and translation scholarship.

Consultants in the Bible Translation department serve in a support role to the translation teams under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Scripture Engagement. The Associate Translation Consultant may be called upon to review the content of Scripture-based materials, participate in the creation of these materials, and promote and educate both staff and public in the use of easy-to-understand Scriptures and how to read and interpret the biblical text in more fruitful ways so that the end user continues to mature in the image of Christ.
