The central purpose of BLI’s Marketing & Communications team is to support the under-resourced church by ministering to supporters through opportunities to financially support, pray, learn about pressing needs, and showcasing God’s work. In addition, the communications team seeks to invite others into the ministry through financial gifts, prayer, and education. The Director of Digital Marketing is responsible for leading the execution of BLI’s Marketing & Communications’ purpose within the digital space: BLI’s corporate website, ecommunications, social media platforms, and others.

As an expert in digital marketing strategy and platform integration, the Director of Digital Marketing will use their influence to lead the Marketing & Communications team. This role is expected to have a solid understanding of various platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, websites, CRMs) and integrating them for greatest effect in reaching goals. Additionally, the Director of Digital Marketing will read, interpret, and report data to identify actionable insights across the various digital platforms and audience segments.

This position is highly collaborative as the role and duties are deeply intertwined in various facets of the ministry. This role is to intimately work across several teams to further BLI’s ministry towards its donors.

  1. Lead the Marketing & Communications team in devising and executing tactics to further advance the organization’s purpose through digital marketing channels (including website, eCommunications, and social media)
  2. Manage the Digital Marketing Coordinator in social media engagement
  3. Grow the engagement of BLI supporters through digital platforms
  4. Direct and manage the flow of eCommunications (appeals, newsletters, Verse of the Day
    devotionals) within Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  5. Capture, read, interpret, and derive actionable insights from data related to digital audiences
  6. Take leadership in development community engagement of Bible League International’s intranet
  7. Continually identify and execute digital marketing best practices
  8. In collaboration with the Director of Content and Creative Manager, establish and execute a consistent plan of testing, assessing, and applying learnings to platform design and messaging (website, social media, and eCommunications)
  9. Support the Sr. Director of Broadcast Media in developing webpages for radio campaigns and for marketing of BLI’s podcast(s)
  10. In collaboration with IT teams and external agencies, manage the development and
    infrastructure of BLI’s website, as well as it’s day-to-day functionality
  11. In collaboration with the Director of Content and Creative Manager, ensure digital platforms are consistent with the Marketing & Communications suite of communications in messaging and visuals
  12.  In collaboration with Development Services, identify and address opportunities for CRM integration, marketing automation, and audience segment analysis
  13. In collaboration with the Scripture Engagement teams, support ministry efforts as needed
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned

  1. Must be a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must also agree with our statement of faith and conduct his/herself in a Christ-like manner.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field required.
  3. 10+ years of proven experience in non-profit Digital Marketing field preferred
  4. 5+ years of management experience preferred
  5. Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience preferred
  6. Digital Platform integration experience required
  7. Omnichannel marketing experience preferred
  8. Excellent analytical and project management skills
  9. Experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript preferred
  10. Working knowledge of SQL a plus, but not required
  11. Naturally collaborative and a creative, conceptual thinker
  12. Self-managed and self-motivated

Performance Evaluations

You will meet with your manager in alignment with our fiscal year to discuss accomplishments and priorities four times per fiscal year.
