Summary
The Donor Relations Manager (DRM) cares for their assigned regional territory and builds relationships with Mid-level donors with the goal of affirming, ministering, and lifting donors to further engagement with Bible League International. As the donor moves along the donor journey, support is obtained to further the ministry of Bible League International. The DRM will build relationships with donors, utilizing God-honoring practices. The DRM will cultivate those relationships applying our Donor Engagement Pathway Model and the Relationship Model (Discover, Cultivate, Connect, Invite, Acknowledge, Fulfill and Service). The DRM will work independently and within a team structure to achieve relationship building and fundraising goals for the specified territory or constituency identified by Bible League International leadership. The DRM must appreciate and highly enjoy talking with people and enjoy building relationships over the phone, email, text messaging, and virtual visits. As we engage with younger donors, DRM will learn, embrace, and implement new outreach technological methods.

Duties
- Passionately and effectively articulate the vision, mission, programs, and funding needs of Bible League International to assigned individuals, churches, and businesses.
- Minister to donors as appropriate and as led by the Lord via prayer, fellowship and encouragement, and scripture engagement.
- Create and implement moves management cultivation and stewardship plans for donors in assigned territory (portfolios are typically 650 accounts). Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for highly engaged donors; include strategies and benchmarks for upgrading relationship connections, donor engagement, and giving levels.

- Serve donors by encouraging them, as appropriate, of stewardship principles, including estate planning opportunities. Refer and connect donors to our Director of Planned Giving to explore the estate planning services offered by Bible League International.
- Proficiently navigate, analyze, and effectively use the CRM, Chorus, Connect systems and other Advancement/Donor Engagement reports.
- Meet or exceed the Mid-level donor engagement performance standards. This includes meeting outreach attempts, donor connection rate, donor retention, and regaining donors, and asking for appropriate gifts. Including making a minimum of 250 call attempts per month and aiming to have a 30% plus connection rate.
- Engage in a BLI and/or department committee as assigned such as the global prayer committee, the devotional writing group, and the U.S. Ministry Committees (Strategy, Training, Events and Research).
- As assigned (may or may not be based assigned territory) answer prospective and donor inquires sent to [email protected]/Comment or similar platforms, as well as calls received to the DPR phone line.
- Collaborate with the Donor Relations Directors (Major Gift Officers), that are assigned to the same geographical territory to (1) coordinate regional donor vision casting and/or donor acknowledgement events (in-person/virtual), (2) donor visits, and (3) transitioning donors from the Mid-level portfolio to major gifts as strategically appropriate, and (4) strategize and pray together to better service the territory.
- Represent Bible League International in approved events, conferences, donor or mission field trips, and other opportunities to expand the donors’ connection to the mission and vision of Bible League International.
- Stay current with Mid-level fundraising and donor relationship building trends, including donor relations and the use of technology.
- Attend and actively participate in the U.S. Ministry Team, Donor Relations Team, DRM Team, and one-on-one meetings.
- Travel as requested to visit donors, attend donor event, donor field trips, conferences, Bible League and/or US Ministry outreach events.
- Other related duties as assigned by the Director of U.S. Ministry Engagement.

Qualifications
- Must be a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must also agree with our statement of faith and conduct his/herself in a Christ-like manner.
- Displays humility and servant leadership with an exceptional ability to understand the passion and heart of the donor. Live out the core values of Bible League International (prayer, calling, service, unity, integrity, and vision).
- Must have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of successful fundraising or sales experience. Experience working with parachurches and the Christian community is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Concentration in communications, business administration, and/or marketing ideal.
- Must feel comfortable and willing to pray with and for donors. Must have a solid and active personal devotional life with God, and an ability and willingness to provide encouragement.
- Must enjoy making calls.
- Tolerant of varying theological viewpoints, and able to view all believers as brothers and sisters in Christ.
- Ability to work independently and the capacity to work with great effectiveness with other fundraising colleagues and team members.
- Strong organizational and time management skills. Planning, implementation, follow-through, and consistency is required. Required skills – Phone skills: ability to ask open-end questions, ability to listen for key information, , and speak clearly and comfortably on the phone. Leaving great messages is key! Email/Texting Messaging Skills: Able to convey emotion through short and impactful email exchanges. Organizational Skills: Track and recording information is critical. Strong balance of communication, execution, and administration. Facilitation Skills: Being curious and asking great questions to discover more about the donor.
- Open to learning and adapting to new technologies that will help increase donor connectivity. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Other applications like WebEx, Studio Enterprise, Jabber, DialPad and social media. Basic administration skills – data entry, mail merger, typing, and using filter and sorting features on Excel are necessary.
- Displays competency in the core competencies necessary to fulfill the position:
- Via Connect and Chorus, regularly focus on learning the ministry and finding needs to share with donors to be able to communicate clearly and effectively the mission, vision, and daily ministry of Bible League International
- Ability to discern and identify donors’ interests and giving capacity and present an aligning project/ministry need
- Ability to cultivate relationships (primarily through phone conversations) with donors
- Ability to articulate clear, direct requests for financial support
- Ability to create, implement and manage moves management cultivation and stewardship plans for donors in assigned territory donors across a large geographic territory
- Driven and comfortable communicating over the phone. This is extremely important as the majority of donor relations outreach is done over the phone.

Performance Evaluations
You will meet with your manager in alignment with our fiscal year to discuss accomplishments and priorities four times per fiscal year.
