Facilities Manager

Summary

This person will provide leadership and management of day-to-day operations of administration services and align strategies with organizational goals and objectives. Provide additional operational management and leadership as needed.

Duties

  1. Oversee the building and grounds of Bible League offices in Crete, IL, Hurst, TX, and the warehouse in Tinley Park, IL.
  2. Oversee general administration of the mailroom, hospitality, and maintenance teams to ensure operations across teams work efficiently and effectively.
  3. Provide input and assist in creating and maintaining annual budgets for areas of Occupancy – 7740, BLI South General – 9000, and Warehouse – 1050.
  4. Maintain quality operations in the area of responsibility by analyzing, designing, and implementing efficient administrative systems. Conducts internal reviews as needed to ensure operations meet organizational needs.
  5. Provide oversight to the purchasing of building equipment and systems.
  6. Maintain building equipment and systems.
  7. Assist in negotiating contracts with vendors providing goods and services to facilities.
  8. Liaison between Bible League and various local municipalities, departments, pipeline companies, utility companies, etc.
  9. Oversee the response to facility issues that come up during both operational and non-operational hours.
  10. Provide logistical and operational support to special projects and events.
  11. Build and maintain a cohesive team environment.
  12. Meet with the team regularly, provide performance feedback, and lead team-building exercises.
  13. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds
  14. Perform other responsibilities as requested by the Director of Technical Services.

Organizational Relationships

  • Responsible to: Director of Technical Services
  • Responsible for: Administrative Coordinator, Facilities Maintenance Coordinator, Mailroom Coordinator, and Sr. Hospitality Coordinator.
  • Collaborates with: Staff across the organization, working very closely and effectively.

Qualifications

  1. Must be a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must also agree with our statement of faith and conduct his/herself in a Christ-like manner.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in facility maintenance or management preferred.
  3. 5 years or more experience in the building facility maintenance profession required and 5 years or more experience in leading and supervising a team.
  4. Proficiency in technology and building automation systems is required.
  5. Must possess a strong business background.
  6. Strong planning, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, oral, and written communication skills are required.
  7. Must possess tact, maturity, and the ability to lead teams.
  8. Should be capable of making decisions and initiating new strategies.
  9. Must be able to work with mobility, agility, and lift items of up to 75lbs.
  10. Must be self-motivated with the ability to lead and manage without direct supervision.
  11. Must be able to handle confidential information with the highest degree of dependability.
  12. Working knowledge of the major trade disciplines to manage physical facilities and interact with vendors.
  13. Deals with others with fairness and promotes a climate of mutual trust. Makes decisions based on sound ethical, biblical, and moral standards. Demonstrates humility, maturity, and accountability in their behavior and attitudes.

Performance Evaluations

You will meet with your manager quarterly in alignment with our fiscal year to discuss your accomplishments and priorities.
