The HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in executing and overseeing core global HR functions across Bible League International’s (BLI) workforce. This role ensures alignment of global policies while respecting and integrating local employment laws and cultural considerations.
Key responsibilities include full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, employee engagement, learning and development, and ensuring compliance with global employment laws. The HR Generalist will share responsibility with the other HR Generalist as the day-to-day primary point of contact for global staff, ensuring a cohesive and strategic HR approach.
By leveraging HR technology, analytics, and best practices, this role strengthens decision-making, enhances employee engagement, and optimizes HR operations globally.
Duties
Global Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Serve as the main contact for global payroll services and platforms, managing relationships with Employers of Record (EOR) providers and, and internal staff.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for US staff and serve as point person for payroll and EOR payroll across multiple countries.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment and ongoing administration.
- Maintain policies to ensure fair and equitable time-off plans for staff in each applicable country. Understand local laws and regulations surrounding time off policies, including specific country holidays.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, ensuring seamless candidate experience and leveraging applicant tracking systems.
- Facilitate and coordinate our new hire orientation process and onboarding materials tailored for global employees.
Global Compliance & Policy
- Monitor and ensure compliance with employment laws in all applicable countries, identifying and addressing any gaps.
- Maintain and update the Global Code of Conduct to provide alignment across the organization.
- Support international employment contracts, visa processing, and expatriate assignments.
Employee Engagement & Recognition
- Establish and maintain ongoing communication with global staff, ensuring HR updates and resources are accessible.
- Manage employee recognition initiatives, including milestone awards and engagement programs.
- Maintain the BLI intranet platform for HR updates and resources.
- Develop and distribute the bi-annual HR newsletter with relevant organizational updates.
Learning and Development
- Manage LMS administration and develop training programs tailored for global staff.
- In partnership with the Director of HR and EVP of People and Culture, create internal training plans, materials and presentations for staff and leadership development.
HR Operations & Employee Relations
- Serve as a main point of contact for global employees, providing HR guidance and support.
- Support conflict resolution and employee relations matters in collaboration with Director of Human Resources and local leadership.
Employee Safety & Travel Insurance
- Ensure safety best practices for global employees in their work environments and during business travel.
- Oversee global travel insurance administration and risk management for international assignments.
HR Systems & Technology
- Oversee Global EOR platforms, HRIS and payroll systems to maintain accurate records, security, and compliance.
- Provide system training and maintain instructional guides for troubleshooting HR platforms.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
Organizational Relationships
Reports to: Director of Human Resources.
Works collaboratively with: HR Team, People & Culture, global staff, leadership, and HR vendors.
Qualifications
- Must be a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must also agree with our statement of faith and conduct his/herself in a Christ-like manner.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of HR experience. Global HR experience is strongly preferred.
- PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience; ADP payroll experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HRIS, LMS, AI-driven HR analytics, and applicant tracking systems.
- Acumen in learning and development with the ability to design training and effectively present to both staff and leadership.
- Experience with cross-cultural HR management and global employment laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident in leading meetings and presentations.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong focus on Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proactive, growth-oriented, and highly organized, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple global time zones to support effective communication.
- Willingness to occasionally travel internationally based on organizational needs.

Performance Evaluations
You will meet with your manager quarterly in alignment with our fiscal year to discuss your accomplishments and priorities.
