The Partner Relations Director of Latin America Ministries will develop and serve the “League” within the Latin America ministry region. Specifically, this individual will direct communication, collaboration, and tactical approaches to develop BLI’s strategies that will build healthy missional leadership, Scripture engagement programs, and partnerships. This individual will focus on developing a commonly shared vision among staff and Latin America partners to engage everyone in God’s Word in accordance with BLI’s strategic initiatives, philosophies, and ministry policies. The Partner Relations Director of Latin America Ministries will develop ministry leadership throughout the region to ensure that BLI’s strategic initiatives and Scripture Engagement programs adapt well and succeed within various Latin American contexts and for new ministry opportunities.

a. Promotes and educates Latin America ministry leaders and new partners regarding…
i. BLI’s Missiological Statement, Ministry Philosophy (including the Statement of Scripture Engagement and Easy-to-Understand Scripture Engagement Policy), Content Philosophy, Translation Philosophy, and Leadership Philosophy.
ii. The PDT Bible and BLI’s Scripture engagement curriculum and content.
b. Ensures that effective communication and coordination of efforts is well maintained between all organizational unites so that partnership and operational functions in LAM achieve cohesion of a common direction, alignment, and commitment of BLI’s vision, mission, philosophies, values, goals, and strategic initiatives.
c. Engages and supports Latin American ministry leadership and partners in the acceptance and implementation of BLI’s strategic initiatives in Latin America, which include education, promotion, discussion, and development of their tactical elements for Latin America
d. Provides strategic guidance and feedback for the development and implementation of BLI’s Scripture engagement programs (including training methods, program standards, and use of materials) for existing and potentially new ministry opportunities. This includes:
i. The promotion of BLI’s existing and new Scripture engagement programs and materials;
ii. Participation and discussion with Ministry Centers in the exploration and development of new ministry opportunities or models;
iii. The provision of ongoing training in effective methodologies and best practices in use of BLI’s Scripture engagement curriculum and materials.
iv. Piloting, testing, and providing feedback to BLI’s Partnership and Publishing teams on emerging Scripture engagement products and programs.
e. Oversees the work of the Director of Strategy of Latin America to ensure that all operational activities are well aligned with Latin America ministry leadership’s directions and plans for implementation of BLI’s strategic initiatives, including the management of the planning and budgeting cycles, spending, printing and logistics, new ministry opportunity procedures, and program impact review and evaluation.
f. Initiate and support Latin America ministry leadership’s review of ministry impact statistics and data to ensure that the team makes wise and effective decisions that enhance program and initiative effectiveness.
a. In collaboration with the LAM strategies, develops and implements plans to strengthen and expand the leadership of strong teams within Latin America for more effective and responsive ministry advancement;
b. Identify potential leaders within Latin America and ensure opportunities for their growth and development. This may include the provision of training or educational opportunities that enhances their leadership skills, perspectives, and missional theology.
c. Provides ongoing support, coaching, encouragement, guidance, training, and creative direction to the ministry leadership in the Latin American region;
d. Identifies, develops, and mentors potential leaders throughout the Latin America region;
e. Identifies strategies for formal development of leaders throughout Latin America, such as training, conferences, educational opportunities, cross-training, or projects;
f. Stimulates interest in and communicates the potential of leadership growth for Latin America in consideration of broader missiological movements and trends within the region;
g. Challenges both internal and external stakeholders to pray for and develop a growing awareness of Latin American culture and context, leadership approaches, and an effective cross-cultural collaboration that advances the mission of BLI within the LAM region.
a. Supports the Latin America ministry leader’s engagement with ministry partners to ensure healthy relationships, conflict management, and development of shared vision. This will ensure that positive, healthy, and fruitful relationships form between BLI and ministry partners so that BLI and the ministry partner align well in vision, mission, and calling.
b. Communicates regularly with Latin America ministry leadership and partners to understand their organizational and ministry needs, interests, challenges, and opportunities.
c. Connects with and encourages the Boards of Directors for both ministry centers and partners. Support and encourage them in their fiduciary role to govern, protect, and ensure succession of organizational leadership fir their respective ministries in order to stabilize and position the long-term success of BLI’s mission and strategic initiatives in the region.
a. Identify and develop Scripture engagement Advocates within Latin America who can provide scholarly cultural and theological perspectives on content in coordination with BLI’s Publishing and Translation Services teams.
b. Provides ongoing review and editing of all Spanish BLI program content and curriculum according to the timeframes of BLI’s Publishing team.
a. Coordinate and address informational or communication needs that arise from BLI’s Advancement team regarding Latin America Ministries.
b. Participate in the Partnership Leadership Team meetings.
c. Participate and contribute leadership to the tri-monthly Partner Relations Director meetings and Partner conferences.
d. To perform other responsibilities as may be requested by the Executive Vice President of Scripture Engagement.
