The Vice President of Content & Training Development will lead Bible League International’s strategies regarding content creation and training development that supports global Scripture engagement. BLI’s content and training function will focus on producing Scripture engagement materials that provide an enjoyable and transformative experience of spiritual formation for BLI’s intended audiences.

Duties
- Build organizational vision for BLI’s content and training development in alignment with BLI’s focus on spiritual formation, as organized around the Ministry Model, in support of partnership relationships.
- Organize BLI’s content and training development function by ascertaining required skills and ensuring appropriate team bench strength.
- Develop a team ethos, and contribute to an organizational ethos, of spiritual formation. Explore, practice, and implement thought leadership and various spiritual formation practices to enhance the experience of BLI’s content and training by all constituents (staff, partner, donors, volunteers, trained Philips, church planters, and others).
- Implement strong policies and procedures for content and training development that aligns with BLI’s Ministry and Content philosophies and encourages collaborative creation and development processes within the team and with global constituents.
- Ensure that content and training that adheres to BLI’s philosophies, statements, and policies through ongoing review and revision processes.
- Develop, implement, strengthen, and support a strong field testing and review processes for new content and training curriculum.
- Ensure responsible and effective use and management of contractors in the development of different types and forms of content and training for different audiences.
- Build a strong research function within the teamwork that ensure that audience-centric content and training development are guided by third-party resources, expertise, and best practices.
- Lead team culture by building healthy collaborative relationships within the team and between team members and various other constituents within the global League. Ensure that essential voices in content and training development are heard, valued, considered, and included.
- Participate as a member of the Scripture Engagement Leadership team to contribute to global strategies in Scripture engagement among colleagues in partnership relationship, publishing, and Bible translation.
- Travel, both domestic and international, as required. Estimated travel will up to 15% of annual work time.

Reports to: EVP of Scripture Engagement
Responsible for: Development of a Content and Training Team which currently includes two staff (Senior Director of Content Development, Ministry Content Editor)
Collaborates with: VP of Publishing, VP of Bible Translation, VP of Partnership Engagement, VP of Partnership Advancement, Marketing & Communication
Qualifications
- Must be a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must also agree with our statement of faith and conduct his/herself in a Christ-like manner.
- Must have at least a master’s level education in such fields as Christian ministry, theology, or education. Doctoral level preferred.
- Must have at least 10 years of experience leading diverse teams toward the shared accomplishment of organizational vision and strategies.
- Experience in publishing, Christian education, research or devotional writing, pastoral work, and theology/missiology is helpful.

- Experience Develop and implement effective yet responsible departmental policies and procedures to ensure an accountable production of quality content and training curriculum according to BLI’s Ministry Model.
- Maintain healthy and positive relationship with fellow VPs to ensure consistent, positive, and enjoyable collaborations among their respective team in the pursuit of BLI’s strategic aims.
- Provides ongoing visionary and thought leadership to Scripture engagement, spiritual formation, training, mission, and theology.
- Well noted for positive and effective communication.

Performance Evaluations
Performance appraisal will be conducted at 90 days and six months and 12 months. Then you will meet with your manager in alignment with our fiscal year to discuss accomplishments and priorities four times per fiscal year.
