"We are Part of the Solution"
Bible League reaching villages in Zimbabwe
April 24, 2020
On April 3, 2020, I was one of the 50 bishops invited to meet Zimbabwe’s president in Harare. At the opening of the meeting, the president recognized me by name and mentioned to the whole congregation the work that Bible League International is doing in the nation. I was surprised by the recognition but excited at the same time because we are part of the solution to the crisis. Looking at the state of our healthcare in the nation, everybody is pinning their hopes on God that the virus will not spread. Our healthcare system is poorly equipped. We are trusting the Lord and the level of prayer has increased.
Last week, we reached out to 23 villages with the Ministry of Health officials in the Bikita and Zaka Districts. This week, we are scheduled to reach out to 18 villages in the Chiredzi and Chivi Districts. The demand for the Word of God has increased. Fear cover people’s faces as we talk to them. Bible League International is providing hope.
Next week, we are going to divide a team of Master Philips (believers who train Project Philip Bible study leaders) in Matabeleland and Mashonaland Regions to cover their areas with the Ministry of Health officials. By the end of 21 days, we will have covered the length and breadth of our nation. This crisis has placed us in the center of bringing hope to the nation. We are happy to do it because this was never in our plans. I think it would have taken us five years to reach certain villages. Now, it is taking 21 days. This is a miracle! Our God works in mysterious ways.
We are constantly in prayer for you, your families, the Bible League International family, and the nations. Though the devil has meant to destroy the nations, we will emerge stronger and united. Psalm 57:1 NIV, “Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.”
