At just 10 years old, Valentine already is understanding the Gospel thanks to Bible League’s Project Philip Bible studies. Her teacher attended a Project Philip Bible study training and started the first Bible study in Valentine’s school in Zimbabwe.

“I am enjoying this Bible study because I was in the dark about the Word of God,” Valentine says. “I knew very little about God before this time. My parents never took me to church.”

Valentine is the youngest of three children in her family. Her parents own a business in the village. “We have an electricity supply at our house, but not everyone in my village has electricity,” she says. “We fetch water from the community borehole and a nearby stream.”

Because she’s the only child left at home, Valentine had lots of chores to help with, but she admits she was lazy. “I always told my parents that household duties were for adults and not young people,” she says. But after studying God’s Word, she realized she should be obeying her parents. She’s become much more helpful around the house, and her parents have taken notice. “My family members are very supportive of me going to church, and I am very proud to say that they are following my example of studying the Word through our new Bibles and booklets.”

Now, Valentine’s family is growing closer to God and one another. “As a family, we are getting really close to each other. My father is now very keen to know more about God. He listens with great interest when I share the Word of God before we go to bed,” she says. “It blesses my heart to see him kneeling down and praying.”

Valentine knows that the Lord will use her, no matter her age. “My favorite Bible character is David,” she says. “Looking at his age and size, he stood up and fought against Goliath. I have learned that even if there are obstacles in my life, I will overcome them if I believe in God and have faith in Him.”

She is forever grateful for Bible League supporters. “May God bless you for giving us Bibles,” she says. “My family is very interested now in studying the Word of God and we are enjoying it very much. After receiving my Bible and booklet, I feel very secure and confident knowing His grace is sufficient for my life. Pray for me, that I will grow to be a good girl. Pray that my brothers will also be saved, and that my aunt would receive Christ in her old age.”

She concludes, “Through your love, I now know God at my age. I really appreciate your kind gesture.”
