The Deputy Regional Director of Latin America works under the leadership of the Regional Director of Latin America, assisting in representing BLI to ministry partners, providing strategic support, and enhancing engagement with God’s Word across the region. The role emphasizes collaboration, operational oversight, and nurturing healthy partnerships to increase ministry impact through learning, spiritual growth, and effective communication.
Duties
- Partner Relationships:

- Support the Regional Director in ensuring that BLI’s core values (Prayer, Calling, Service, Unity, Integrity, and Vision) guide BLI’s relationships with our ministry partners.
- Assist in building and maintaining trust-base relationship with ministry partners across the region.
- Follow up with partners on communications from the Regional Director on relevant updates regarding BLI’s focus and direction.
- Together with the Regional Director Build relationships between different partners within the region with the aim of collaboration, learning, and development.
- Ensure that relevant partner knowledge is recorded and shared in BLI’s CRM (Insightly) system.
- Strategic Leadership:

- Assist in implementing BLI’s strategic and agile project planning cycle with partners every three months. This cycle includes exploring ministry opportunities and challenges, discussing action steps, discussing budget allocations with the partner, and agreeing on objectives, timelines, and evaluation metrics.
- Share leadership with the Regional Director to facilitate strategic dialogue with ministry partners that design Scripture engagement programs using BLI’s Ministry Model for the intended audiences of the under-resourced church in the partner’s regions.
- Provide support for leadership initiatives that prioritizes listening and learning from the Lord, our partners, each other, and the under-resourced church to respond creatively to adaptive challenges.
- Communicate with various BLI teams and ensure that learning is shared openly and appropriately across the organization to foster greater service to our partners and the audiences they serve.
- In collaboration with the Regional Director of LAM lead efforts to help the partner understand and embrace BLI’s culture through an engaging experience of BLI’s partner handbook. Ensure that strategic conversations with partners follow appreciative inquiry principles so strategic decisions are based positively on opportunities, strengths, and available resources.
- Identify areas of training, education, or partnership development opportunities and communicate these to the Regional Director.
- Program/Impact Evaluation:

- Share leadership with the Regional Director biannual evaluation of projects to learn and make appropriate decisions with the partner to expand, pivot, or retire projects. This evaluation will be informed and facilitated by appropriate key performance indicators and other metrics.
- Review financial, impact, and other reports with partners to ensure that evaluation conversations are well informed by strong data and information provided by Partner Services/Finance.
- Focus partner and project evaluations on learning and growth rather than remediation. Appreciative Inquiry method.
- Lead a robust field review process to collect and share meaningful feedback on BLI’s products, training, and services from partners and their intended audiences.
- Organizational Coordination/Collaboration:

- Collaborate with the Regional Director and Global Finance team to determine budget allocations and constraints for ministry projects.
- Ensure all project decisions are appropriately recorded in BLI’s agile project management system.
- Communicate to the Regional Director resource needs for future potential projects, including training, Scripture engagement products, or other requirements.
- Regional and overseas travel as required up to 20% of overall time.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Regional Director.
Organizational Relationships
Reports to: Regional Director of Latin America
Works collaboratively with: Regional Director of LAM, VP of Ministry Partnerships, Director of Ministry Partnership Operations.
Qualifications
- Must be a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must also agree with our statement of faith and conduct his/herself in a Christ-like manner.
- Must have 5 to 8 years of experience in a strategic leadership role (leading a diverse team toward common goals).
- Must possess intercultural leadership and management experience, with the capacity for building effective cross-cultural relationships that facilitate goal accomplishment.
- Must have permanent resident status in the country of residency.
- Must be willing and available to undertake regional and overseas travel.

Performance Evaluations
You will meet with your manager quarterly in alignment with our fiscal year to discuss your accomplishments and priorities.
