The Webmaster is responsible for managing and maintaining the Bible League International website, ensuring it operates smoothly, is visually appealing, secure, and aligned with organizational brand, communications, and marketing goals. This includes everything from basic content updates to advanced functions like SEO optimization, security, analytics, and server management. The role blends technical expertise with creativity and collaboration, making the website a critical asset in advancing Bible League International’s digital presence and mission impact.

Duties

  • Manage and maintain the Bible League International website, including content, functionality, design assets, donation systems, and user interface components. Ensure content is regularly updated, accurate, and aligned with the organization’s messaging.
  • Design and implement responsive and visually compelling web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress. Incorporate branding, multimedia, and animation as needed.
  • Ensure all web content and site elements are optimized for performance across mobile devices and multiple browsers.
  • Implement website security best practices and monitor for threats. Maintain regular backups and version control practices (e.g., using Git) to support secure site management.
  • Integrate and manage secure payment gateways for online donations, ensuring PCI compliance and donor data protection.
  • Manage hosting environments and server configurations for the WordPress CMS, ensuring uptime, speed, and infrastructure optimization.
  • Apply technical SEO practices (including metadata, site speed, indexing, and schema markup) to increase search engine visibility and drive organic traffic.
  • Analyze user behavior and website performance using Google Analytics and other tools. Report on key metrics to guide decision-making and digital marketing effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Digital Marketing and Integrated Marketing team to set goals, execute campaigns, and drive audience engagement through the website.
  • Lead strategy and planning for continuous improvement and innovation in web technologies, content strategy, and digital best practices.
  • Test website functionality across various browsers and devices to ensure a seamless and accessible user experience, including adherence to ADA compliance standards.
  • Support and coordinate cross-functional projects involving web design, content migration, donation campaigns, and technical upgrades.
  • Optimize high-traffic features (e.g., Verse of the Day, Devotions) to increase engagement, conversions, and shareability.
  • Stay current on industry trends and tools related to UX, cybersecurity, CMS platforms, SEO, analytics, and web development.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

 

Organizational Relationships

Reports to the Director of Digital Marketing
Collaborates with: members of the Integrated Marketing team, including creative, communications, and fundraising roles.

Qualifications

  1. Must be a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must also agree with our statement of faith and conduct his/herself in a Christ-like manner.
  2. Associate’s degree in web design, computer science, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in web development, web administration, or similar roles.
  4. Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress, with a strong knowledge of HTML email development highly desirable. Experience with PHP, MySQL, and Git/version control is a plus.
  5. Familiarity with server-side operations, website hosting environments, and domain/DNS management.
  6. Strong grasp of website security protocols, cyber threat awareness, and data protection measures.
  7. Experience integrating and managing secure payment systems/donation platforms.
  8. Ability to interpret and report web analytics using tools like Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and related platforms.
  9. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and basic graphic design for web (layout, imagery, and UX).
  10. Understanding of technical and on-page SEO, performance optimization, and accessibility standards.
  11. Adaptable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently or collaboratively.

Performance Evaluations

You will meet with your manager quarterly in alignment with our fiscal year to discuss your accomplishments and priorities.
