The locals in the South African village of Zeerust referred to the street gang comprised of young people as “the scum of the town.” They were homeless beggars, addicted to drugs, and engaged in crime. But transformation came when a godly widow named Onica invited them to learn about Jesus. Eventually, the mayor would visit this Bible study to find out what changed these young people and caused a drop in crime in their town.
