Kopano, 11, lost both of his parents at a very young age. His grandmother raised him and his brothers and sisters after their parents passed away.
Kopano learned about Bible League’s Project Philip Bible studies through a friend who invited him to their Bible study group. “I enjoyed the first session, which made me want to know more about God. I decided to join the weekly studies and was happy to learn more about God.
“It was difficult for me to attend church as I was expected to cook and to bathe my younger siblings,” recollects Kopano, the second oldest in the family of four. “I am grateful that my older sister was always willing to help by doing the chores so that I could attend the Bible study.”
He could not reconcile God’s love when he lost his parents at such a tender age. “Through the Bible studies, I experienced God’s love. The anger I had towards God was replaced with love and forgiveness. I am now living a life of happiness and freedom, ” he shares.
He loves studying the Bible and the fellowship with the believers. His favorite Bible character is Jesus. He says, “Jesus loves me and forgives me despite the hatred I had towards Him due to my parents’ death.”
Kopano is grateful for what God has done in his life. “I thank God’s people who provide us with these booklets and Bibles, offering us opportunities to know God as the loving Father. My personal prayer request is that my old friends come to God and see His love for them. My dream for the future is to finish school and help my family when I get a job. Also, I would like to serve God by teaching other children, like our teacher has been teaching us. I wish my friends would come to Jesus and know that Satan is the evil one, not God,” he beams.
